How We Got Started
In February 2008, the vision to provide after-school leadership development programs for teen girls came to life. Lorraine Thomas, CEO and Founder of DDP, along with 6 devoted colleagues, friends and family members, worked tirelessly to create a program that would be a safe haven for teens in need of direction and guidance. They were hopeful that the community would see the program as a valuable resource that would help youths grow and mature into responsible adults who were destined for greatness. With that, Destiny’s Daughters of Promise was born!
10 Years Later
10 years later, DDP has served hundreds of teens and that vision has expanded into a new goal to reach and provide 100 under-represented teen girls with an educational advantage in STEM Education and leadership development. As you can see, DDP has grown into a community movement and we are so excited to be celebrating our 10-year anniversary!
Celebrate with Us for 10 Weeks
We hope that you will celebrate with us for the next 10 weeks as we begin our $10 for 10 STEM Education campaign. Our goal is to raise $10,000 in 10 weeks to fund our STEM Education program.
Join the fun by donating a small gift of $10 to Destiny’s Daughters of Promise and invite 10 of your friends to do the same using the hashtag #DDP10for10 on social media.
